भगवद गीता: अध्याय 1, श्लोक 17
काश्यश्च परमेष्वासः शिखण्डी च महारथः।
धृष्टद्युम्नो विराटश्च सात्यकिश्चापराजितः॥1.17॥
Translation:
Kashiraj, the great archer, Shikhandi, the mighty Dhrishtadyumna, Virat, and the invincible Satyaki also blew their respective conch shells.
श्लोक का अनुवाद:
काशीराज, जो महान धनुर्धर हैं, शिखंडी, महाबली धृष्टद्युम्न, विराट, और अपराजेय सात्यकि ने भी अपने-अपने शंख बजाए।
Explanation: This verse mentions the great warriors who fought on behalf of the Pandavas in the battle and blew their conch shells. King of Kashi, who was a skilled archer, Shikhandi, who played an important role in the Mahabharata war, Dhristadyumna, who was Draupadi's brother and the Pandavas' commander-in-chief, Virat, under whom the Pandavas spent their disguised exile, and Satyaki, who was invincible, all sounded their conch shells. This conch sound was a symbol of their dedication and self-confidence towards the war.
श्लोक का भावार्थ:
इस श्लोक में उन महान योद्धाओं का उल्लेख किया गया है, जिन्होंने पांडवों की ओर से युद्ध में भाग लिया और अपने शंख बजाए। काशी के राजा, जो एक श्रेष्ठ धनुर्धर थे, शिखंडी, जो महाभारत युद्ध में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने वाले थे, धृष्टद्युम्न, जो द्रौपदी के भाई और पांडवों के सेनापति थे, विराट, जिनके यहां पांडवों ने अज्ञातवास बिताया, और सात्यकि, जो अपराजेय थे, सभी ने अपने-अपने शंखों का नाद किया। यह शंखनाद युद्ध के प्रति उनकी तत्परता और आत्मविश्वास का प्रतीक था।
