📜 श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता – अध्याय 2, श्लोक 18
(Sankhya Yoga – आत्मा का ज्ञान)
श्लोक (Sanskrit):
अन्तवन्त इमे देहा नित्यस्योक्ताः शरीरिणः।
अनाशिनोऽप्रमेयस्य तस्माद्युध्यस्व भारत॥2.18॥

🔤 Transliteration:
antavanta ime dehā nityasyoktāḥ śarīriṇaḥ।
anāśino ’prameyasya tasmād yudhyasva bhārata॥2.18॥

🇮🇳 Hindi Translation (अनुवाद):
हे भारत (अर्जुन)! इन देहों का अंत निश्चित है, परंतु जो इन देहों में वास करने वाला है — वह आत्मा — नित्य, अविनाशी और अप्रमेय (जिसका मापन नहीं किया जा सकता) कही गई है। इसलिए, तू युद्ध कर।

🌍 English Translation:
O Arjuna! The bodies of the embodied soul are perishable, but the soul itself is eternal, indestructible, and immeasurable. Therefore, you should fight.

🧘 Explanation in English:
Here, Lord Krishna explains the temporary nature of the body and the eternal nature of the soul:
• The body (deha) is antavant — it has an end.
It is made of matter and must perish one day.
• The soul (sharīriṇaḥ), which lives within the body, is nitya (eternal), anāśin (indestructible), and aprameya (immeasurable) — beyond the reach of material senses.
Death only destroys the body, not the soul. Hence, Krishna tells Arjuna: Don’t grieve over the destruction of bodies — perform your duty as a warrior. The wise understand that the soul never dies, only its outer form changes.

व्याख्या हिन्दी में:
इस श्लोक में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण अर्जुन को समझाते हैं कि —
• शरीर नश्वर है, इसका अंत निश्चित है।
• आत्मा अमर, अविनाशी और अप्रमेय है — उसे कोई नष्ट नहीं कर सकता।
• शरीर नष्ट होता है, परंतु आत्मा सदा रहती है, वह केवल एक शरीर से दूसरे शरीर में प्रवेश करती है।
👉 इसलिए, अर्जुन को अपने कर्तव्य (धर्म) से विमुख नहीं होना चाहिए। युद्ध जैसे कर्म में हिचकिचाना व्यर्थ है, क्योंकि आत्मा का कभी विनाश नहीं होता।

✨ भावार्थ (Essence):
• शरीर अस्थायी है, आत्मा शाश्वत है।
• शरीर का नाश होना स्वाभाविक है; आत्मा कभी नष्ट नहीं होती।
• जो इस सत्य को जानता है, वह शोक, भय और मोह से मुक्त होकर अपना धर्मपूर्ण कर्तव्य करता है।

गीता में उपदेश सुनाया, धर्म युद्ध को धर्म बताया। कर्म तू कर मत रख फल की इच्छा, यह सन्देश तुम्ही से पाया।
