Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Shloka 42 states:

इन्द्रियाणि पराण्याहुरिन्द्रियेभ्यः परं मनः |
मनसस्तु परा बुद्धिर्यो बुद्धेः परतस्तु सः ||42

Transliteration:
indriyāṇi parāṇy āhur indriyebhyaḥ paraṁ manaḥ
manasas tu parā buddhir yo buddheḥ paratas tu saḥ

Translation:
The senses are said to be superior to the body, the mind is superior to the senses, and the intellect is superior to the mind. That which is beyond the intellect is the Self.

In this verse, Lord Krishna explains the hierarchy of control within the body. The senses are superior to the physical body, the mind is superior to the senses, the intellect is superior to the mind, and the Self (Atman) is superior to the intellect.
